Enhancing Learning by Improving Process Skills in STEM (ELIPSS) is an award winning, NSF-funded project that focuses on the identification, development, and assessment of skills in active learning, undergraduate STEM classrooms. Skills can be loosely categorized into two groups: process skills (known by many names, including professional, transferable, or workplace skills) and science practices (skills required to theorize, investigate, and build models). Assessing skill development and providing feedback to students and instructors is a key component for enhancing these skills in STEM programs.
